James Fox’s upcoming single ‘The Rest of Our Lives’ is an ode to recovering from addiction

Welsh singer-songwriter James Fox’s upcoming single – set for release on January 29th – commemorates his escape from an all-consuming gambling addiction.

His recovery through music allows him to offer hope to others in similar positions, as he continues to thrive at what he loves.

In James Fox’s words on the writing of the track:

This is a feel-good, guitar-driven love song, that speaks of new beginnings, love, hope and making plans for the future, something I think can resonate with all of us just now.”

‘All The Fours’, the album from which the track comes from, gives influences of rock, country, blues, and folk. To say the least, it encompasses a collection of thought-proving tunes that bubbles with diversity.

Fox plays every instrument himself, except the drums for which he recruited long-time friend Mike Sorrentino. Fox also wrote the songs within lockdown, making use of a time of reflection and worldwide standstill.

Stefan Elefteriu drops other-worldly album ‘Quantum Gates’

Stefan Elefteriu’s latest album is a science fiction journey. Listening makes you feel like you’re wandering through a world unknown; a world which quivers with the melodic lines of outer space.

The artist previously built his own synthesisers in Communist Russia, which likely led to his technical and classical skills in music being fused together in ‘Quantum Gates’.

We can see through this album some truly astonishing musical understanding. Eleferiu masters the keyboard, violin, and a distinct musical narrative which gives the songs their other-worldy feel.

Listen to ‘Quantum Gates’ below:

Elements of classical, rock, and electronic all come together within this album. It’s perhaps not surprising with Elefteriu’s technical abilities, but his musical career breaches from working at the Romanian National Opera, which is definitely an unusual start for an electro-rock star.

The most noticeable factor of this album is the commitment to a uniquely niche genre. Science fiction isn’t for everyone… but maybe it should be.

8-years-old Elle releases Christmas single to support the homeless

The single, ‘It’s Christmas’, has been released after Elle decided to do more than just help the homeless in her hometown of Southampton and set her sights on the rest of the nation.

She’s raising money for homeless charity Shelter, to not only widen awareness but get them some vital funds ready for the festive season.

A percentage of all the funds from downloads and views of Elle’s music video (which you can watch below!) will go directly to the charity to help prevent homelessness in the lockdown and festive period.

Almost every Sunday Elle goes out with her mum delivering sandwiches, cake and fruit to those sleeping rough on the streets. She sets an example which we should all follow, not just at Christmas but all year round.

Elle said: “I just hope this song makes people think about homeless people this Christmas. It must be horrible to live on the streets and I just want to try and help them more if I can. Thank you to everyone who supports this fundraising campaign.”

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. We campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. For free and independent advice from Shelter visit: https://england.shelter.org.uk/get_help

87 and The Toys drop new EP ‘Japanesy If You Pleasey’ in classic DIY indie pop fashion

The seven tracks that make up ‘Japanesy If You Pleasey’ are a trigger which come together to portray the trio’s indie expertise and passion.

Indie artists such as Violent Femmes, B-52s, Daniel Johnson and Neutral Milk Hotel are clear inspiration for the twists and turns of their style. But they also hold their own in retaining a quirky and fresh sound.

The songs ask questions from everything regarding government, corona virus and even all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants and BoJack Horseman. Combined American and Japanese cultures are brought together in this DIY mash.

Listen to the tracks below:

The songs give a true personal feel, somehow also managing to epitomise coolness. For instance, ‘BoJack’, written after the band binge-watched the series throws out chirpy lyrics alongside gooey rhythms.

Perhaps the cherry on top for fans of this band is their no-filter approach. They take a calm viewpoint on production techniques and commit to artist integrity throughout.

Simon Collins’ new album ‘Becoming Human’ is a prog rock gemstone

Simon Collins has merged together an exciting mix of futuristic electronics, personal and engaging lyrics and the blasting, undeniable undertones of prog rock.

His latest album, ‘Becoming Human’, allows us to transcend on a journey filled with expressive meaning. The title track itself describes a character transformation- what is it truly like to be human? Check out the video below:

Previously within the genre of prog rock there has been a sense of disconnection between the writer and the instrumentals. However, Simon Collins effortlessly merges his abilities as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist to form what can only be described as a major force of the genre.

Simon’s legendary father Phil Collins has clearly adapted him to a musical way of life, unsurprisingly learning to play drums at the age of 5. Following in his footsteps, we can certainly expect to see lots more from this musical fanatic.

New single ‘The Quest’ establishes InHibit as an influential alt-rock act

‘The Quest’ – a stunning new single from InHibit, which is out now – is the perfect mix of twanging guitar, sliding melodies, and overall pretty exciting tunes.

Despite being only 21, InHibit (Noah Roovers) has been divulged in the world of music since he was 5 years-old just starting to learn piano. He described himself as a poet, though his songs determine him as a true music composer; his 400,000 YouTube views, all accumulated in less than a month, also categorise him as something very special.

Alongside his single ‘The Quest’, we now also have stunning visuals in the form of a video. It can only be described as astonishingly eye-popping – see for yourself.

The track gives the vibes of late 90s rock, not unlike the style of Nirvana. But we can expect to see much more from InHibit, as he’s releasing not only further musical content but a book and a collection of poetry.

Antonia Grace drops amazing EP ‘London Grace’ despite being only 10 years old

Antonia Grace won’t let anything hold her back, least of all her age! The 10-year old singer has released five hit tracks which really showcase her stunning vocals.

Her worldwide appeal leaves fans in awe at her singing and acting skills, with Antonia’s Anglo-French heritage aiding her online coverage globally. She’s already surpassed the triumphs of many musicians, finding magazine features and radio play easily within her talented grasp.

The star is most praised for her outstanding singing ability, and the EP really gives her a platform to present what she can do.

This also isn’t surprising since she began acting in musical theatre at only 5 years old, before performing to audiences of thousands of people at only age 7.

Tracks ‘My Little Ten’ and ‘Tick Tock and Bonbons’ are unbelievably mature and expressive for a girl of such youth. The EP is perfectly pop and upbeat; a great listen if you’re ever needing to feel motivated. Antonia Grace certainly has been.
